The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia’s Green Team and Environmental Stewardship Committee have worked to ensure that future church leaders know about and have experience in caring for creation.

All the gifts help fill needs and give life to people in many needy countries.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to reveal only what is “normal” about you? I know I do. But sometimes secrecy conflicts with my activist impulses.

Learning to see these obstacles and inequities can feel tedious and be inconvenient for those of us who benefit from and function well within the status quo. But… we must understand that we suffer from our ignorance too.

It’s long, it’s wordy. It’s what we did in 2010 and what 2011 has in store for The 99 Collective.

Arizona has had a hell of a year…

Hi. I’m Wes Whitesel, a 23 years old recent college graduate who loves sports and is committed to surrounding myself with the most incredible people I can find…I also really like beards.

I spend most of my time in the great state of WI serving up smiling burgers at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, but lately I have branched out to Chicago, to start seminary in Hyde Park at Lutheran School of Theology.

How do toys, frozen chicken, clothing, canned food, ladders, boxes, shopping carts and an old fire station all fit together? Throw in a little barbeque in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, and you have an experience at Metro Lutheran Ministries worth walking – maybe not totally uphill – but at least a couple miles through the snow for!

My name is Lisa Gray and I live in Portland, Oregon. I grew up across the river in Vancouver, Washington, but consider myself an “Oregon native” as I was born in a hospital in Portland, and I moved there for college in 1997. I’ve been a happy Oregonian ever since!
