I can tell you that although I never go to church, I have an enormous faith in God. I believe that you don’t have to go to church to believe in the Lord and his ways.

I don’t know when I first heard the term ‘church shopping,’ but I do remember being mad about it. I couldn’t understand how people could shop around from church to church, dismissing them for various reasons. ‘We didn’t like the sermon,’ or ‘the music was just too old fashioned,’ or even ‘the sanctuary was too modern for my taste.’ I didn’t understand why they didn’t just pick one community and make it their own, understanding that no church is perfect. But, 4 months after moving to a brand new city, I suddenly find myself shopping for a church home and struggling to find my ‘perfect community.’
