I allowed my unresolved issues around spiritual discipline to have control and power over my current decisions. Instead of just confronting them and dealing with them, I let them have the best of me. Because of this, my spiritual life suffered–suffers.

Here’s the deal: we are all broken and are in need of transformation. Trust me, I am fed up with the state of wealth disparity in this country.

I share this story because it reminds me how important it is to take risk—be it big or small—to be vulnerable with people—to expose oneself.

How long will you be silent in my life and lives of those who need you most?

For we are not of earthly desires but of Godly ones that calls to live on the margins, protect life and preserve it until the end of time.

Human dignity, now there’s a righteous cause. Up hold that and defend that. Rise up against that which holds it down.

I live by this mantra in everything I do. All too often people are too sure of themselves and in doing so they are blind to who they are hurting and whom they are excluding. I am guilty of this type of hurting and excluding.
