Don’t go it alone. Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t wait for the right time.
Our byline is more than just a catchy little phrase to hook people in. We’re here cause we want to act. We don’t want to do it alone. And, we know enough to know that we need to learn how to live into the dream of God.
Jesus calls us to accountability to one another and special concern for the marginalized. For all of us who feel compelled to respond to that call, there is a need to be in relationship with each another. Just as God is relational in God’s-self, we too are our authentic selves when we connect with others.
So we need a place to connect with one another, experiment in love and act in faith.
The purpose of this Website is not to highlight the experiences of a few in order to hold up the right way to do faith and activism. The writers are of diverse backgrounds and experiences sharing the insights and reflections they have along the way.
Some have been involved deeply in social justice for much of their lives. Others are relatively new to it. Some are very public with their actions while others work through quiet relationships. Acts of love require risk, accountability, and courage.
Our hope is that through the 99 collective you will be inspired, challenged, and encouraged to experiment with bold acts of love. We hope that you feel a sense of connection to something greater than all of us. We hope you realize you’re not alone.
As time goes on, the writers will continue to grow in diversity and perspective. Maybe it’ll be you. Maybe it’ll be someone you introduce to the 99. Either way, this is not about those who create and maintain the Web site. It’s about us, together, living into the dream of God.
